Braun PS 500 Dampening

#1 Beitrag von aat » 30.09.2018, 09:41

Hello everybody,

I have a nice braun ps500 tt.
But it has problems with the suspension system - the platter scratches over the body which led me to check the suspension and two or the cylinders are leaking oil.

Is there a restoration procedure or replacement parts or sth for this condition?

If you need further info pls feel free to ask!

Thanks in advance!

Hi Angel,

up to now, the recommended solution was to buy "a slaughter's unit" with working dampers and to nick these...
Sorry to say, I haven't heared of sb trying to repair the dampers yet.
Maybe sb in this board can sell you some?

Leider habe ich noch nicht gehört, dass jemand Dämpfer repariert hat.
Hat vielleicht jemand im Forum welche zu verkaufen?<<

Hello Angel,
the scratching of the platter is due to wear of the springs and can be corrected by readjusting the level with the nut at the lower end. So if the leakage is not really bad you can probably live with it. You will find several posts on the adjustment procedure in the Forum, for example here: http://www.braun-hifi-forum.de/viewtopi ... =7&t=13211" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
